Manitoba Hydro invades Ontario?

I'm surprised it hadn't ever happened yet, but Manitoba Hydro finally decided to collect some guts together and apply for an electricity wholesaler license in the province in Ontario.

What this essentially means is that any hydro customer in Ontario could buy their electricity from Manitoba, although the customer would be on the hook to pay the provincial benefit AKA global adjustment, making any such venture most likely financially disadvantageous.

Is Hydro Quebec next?
